WolfinPDX<p>Finished the folding bike today too.</p><p>Upgraded the stem to a metal one, and to adapt to any standard handlebars. New 7 speed thumb shifter to replace the broken grip shifter. New brake levers, new grips. Replaced the saddle with one I had on another bike. Installed lighter removable plastic fenders. Added a bottle or travel mug holder. Bought a Rhinowalk bag. </p><p>Looking to sell it. US$150. I have too many bikes now. Please be local. Prefer you can come get it from me.</p><p>It was a fun project. WolfinPDX<p>I am super late to the Cheap Bike Build-Off this year. I came damn close to restoring this bike I salvaged from a Dumpster on budget. I went over the $150 limit by about $20. The bell and water bottle put me over. That's okay.</p><p>My partner's kid is going to buy it from me for $150. Needs a way to get to and from work. </p><p>I'm very pleased with how it came out. </p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a></p>

David Hembrow<p>I've painted the shed and the fence this morning, planted a few veg, and now it's time to build a new wheel for my two-wheeled recumbent.</p><p>The freehub in the existing wheel has decided to be "free" more often than it should be. Sometimes it works just fine, and other times when I pedal the pedals just spin without doing anything. I'll probably take the hub apart and see if it's salvagable, but first I'll get the new wheel in use.</p><p>It's an old bike, about 27 years old now, but it suits me. It's comfortable, nice to ride, and I'm used to it. This is the fourth time I've rebuilt the rear wheel. The other occasions were twice due to wearing down the rim too much when braking, once when the original hub failed, and once when someone in the UK drove into me on my commute to work and destroyed the wheel (luckily I wasn't hurt on that particular occasion).<br><a href="https://hembrow.eu/personal/pashleypdq.html" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">hembrow.eu/personal/pashleypdq</span><span class="invisible">.html</span></a></p><p>I have a fair number of these perfectly good and reasonably inexpensive rims in stock should any of you want one:<br><a href="https://www.dutchbikebits.com/20-inch-rim" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">dutchbikebits.com/20-inch-rim</span><span class="invisible"></span></a><br><a href="https://todon.eu/tags/dutchbikebits" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dutchbikebits</span></a> <a href="https://todon.eu/tags/biketooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>biketooter</span></a> <a href="https://todon.eu/tags/cycling" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cycling</span></a> <a href="https://todon.eu/tags/wheelbuilding" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wheelbuilding</span></a> <a href="https://todon.eu/tags/regel17" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>regel17</span></a> <a href="https://todon.eu/tags/diy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>diy</span></a> <a href="https://todon.eu/tags/ReduceRepairReuseRecycle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ReduceRepairReuseRecycle</span></a></p>
