I remind you that Trump has directly referred to Eisonhower's Operation Wetback "success" in his own policies and his promise to deport "1 million" immigrants, which is the same number of immigrants of Mexican descent deported by Eisenhower... 60% of which were US citizens!

This is part of why Trump is hung up on ending birthright citizenship, with his Department of Justice even falsely claiming that Indigenous people don't have birthright citizenship (which they have been guaranteed since 1927).

This same ideology is why the Conservative government in Canada had created the Second Class Citizenship Act to enable the revocation of Canadian citizenship without due process, with Jason Kenney, Harper's Minister of Immigration and Citizenship (and later to become Alberta's first UCP Premier) promising to end the citizenship of 3,000 Canadians.

While Conservatives like to say that obtaining citizenship is a privilege, our courts have ruled that once obtained it becomes a right, and cannot be revoked without due process.

The motivations behind this ideology is racist. Trump says he can always tell who the illegals are, by the way they look. Which is why he rounds up Navajo natives and American citizens to lock up in detention camps because of the color of their skin, or the prevalence of skin art.

It's the rule of law, only for those of the correct ethnic background.

#cdnpoli #abpoli #uspol #fascism
