Thankfully, we're running on generator power, so we still have all our usual home amenities. However, there's no Estimated Time of Restoration (ETR) yet, which is frustrating since knowing it would help me decide whether to shut the generator down for maintenance. Can we expect power restoration sooner or later? Our area is part of a "grid pocket" of about 50 homes that seem to lose power frequently. That said, we really can't complain—this morning, I read about the devastating floods and tornadoes wreaking havoc just a little farther north. Swede’s PhotographsOver the TopI’m an old soldier—or at least I was, in what feels like a different lifetime. This photograph is one of my earlier captures, and the bird’s posture and focused expression remind me of a World War I soldier climbing over the trenches, or perhaps the infantry motto: 'Follow Me.' Swede’s PhotographsWaters of DawnThis image was captured about three years ago at a small, secluded pond on the outskirts of Albany, Georgia, hidden away between hotels. The original scene featured two birds: this immature white ibis (Eudocimus albus) and a great egret. I am <a href="https://aus.social/tags/teetotal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#teetotal</a> (and have been all my life) but love making mixed drinks, and have an extensive <a href="https://aus.social/tags/zeroproof" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#zeroproof</a> bar. For the past few years, I have been learning Nyoongar (primarily the Marribank).
