There seem to be so many actors now who are unaware that this has been a technical term in a tiny niche industry, and now you can't really search for it online anymore without getting flooded by medical training or car and flight simulator software and devices.

Look, I'm not justifying the Nintendo's 1st party game price increases. But you have to admit, gaming prices have remained surprisingly steady of the past 30-40 years. Which is wild! We would rent games back then for sleepovers on weekends.

Using my local bowling alley as an example... Ten Pin Bowling costs about 50p a minute, so that's £30 an hour.
A coffee that lasts me 20 minutes costs £4, so that's £12 an hour.
When compared to other forms of entertainment, I really don't feel that video games are expensive. Especially those which offer 100s of hours of playability.
I've played Animal Crossing New Horizons for 395 hours... a £49.99 game. That's about 13p an hour.
I've played Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for 185 hours, another £49.99 game. That's 27p an hour.
Compare that to an average price, non-premier 2 hour movie rental from Apple TV £4.99. So, about £2.50 an hour.

I summoned enough patience to beat Castlevania Dracula X in the Castlevania Advance Collection. Dracula really needs to do something about those broken floors. The only thing more evil than Dracula are OSHA violations.
After what felt like thousands of deaths I FINALLY finished my Lilac run in Freedom Planet! That last boss battle was all kinds of brutal.
