This image is an example of what happens when a DC circuit breaker doesn't have the cable clamp screws tightened properly. The heating was so extreme that the screw has discoloured and the plastic housing of the breaker has charred. The cables were in no better condition.
The breaker was installed in an E-Bike and the image is reproduced with the kind permission of the E-Bike owner.
